London
As a former press secretary to Queen Elizabeth II and media relations manager for Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, Dickie Arbiter has had unprecedented access to some of the most notable figures of our time; and with more than four decades of experience covering royalty as a broadcaster and journalist, he is regarded as one of the most knowledgeable and sought after experts on the British Monarchy working today.
In addition to his duties as a preeminent royal spokesman, Arbiter was responsible for the media management of ceremonial occasions, all major state events inside Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle and The Queen’s major UK engagements. He was also responsible for all operational media requirements for royal funerals, including that of the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
As a television commentator, Arbiter has spent more than forty years covering royalty, heads of state, and other globally recognized figures, allowing him to bring his own personal insight into the public forum as a royal analyst and international lecturer. He speaks regularly about the monarchy in the United Kingdom; its relationship with the media; its relevance in the 21st century; and his experiences with some of the key Royal personalities – The Queen, Prince Charles, The late Princess Diana as well as the younger generation – Prince William and Catherine, and Prince Harry.
Dickie retired from the Royal Household in 2000.
