INSIDE EDITION anchor Deborah Norville is a woman who wears many hats.  Anchor since 1995 of the nation’s top rated syndicated news magazine, she has lead the show to new ratings strength and respect.  Ratings jumped 15% the week she joined the program, now the country’s 3rd highest rated television show in Access time slots.

A two time EMMY award winner, Norville joined INSIDE EDITION from CBS News, where she won one EMMY for 48 HOURS “Flood, Sweat & Tears.”  At CBS, she anchored AMERICA TONIGHT, reported 48 HOURS, STREET STORIES and CBS EVENING NEWS.  She has also been host of the Deborah Norville Radio Show on the ABC Radio network, heard on over 200 stations around the country.  She was co-host of NBC’s TODAY SHOW and news anchor on that program, positions which followed her tenure as anchor of NBC NEWS AT SUNRISE.

Norville began her television career while still in college, as a reporter and later weekend anchor for WAGA-TV in Atlanta.  She then worked for WMAQ-TV, the NBC owned station in Chicago where she was a reporter and later main anchor.

Deborah Norville is also an author.  Her first book Back on Track:  How to Straighten Out Your Life When It Throws You a Curve drew upon Deborah’s experiences at the Today program to offer a plan for renewal and redirection for women everywhere.  I Don’t Want To Sleep Tonight offers children (and their parents) suggestions to keep scary dreams away at night.  The highly acclaimed book has been one of Golden Books’ strongest sellers.  I Can Fly followed in March 2001 to help kids find their own talents and increase self esteem.

Deborah is also an active volunteer.  As the 2001 and 2002 National Celebrity Spokesperson for the Mothers March of Dimes, Deborah’s picture appeared on millions of solicitations for the Mothers March.  She has been a Director of the Greater New York City Council of Girl Scouts since 1989, and directed the proceeds from her first children’s book to the Girl Scouts.  She is also on the Steering Committee for the Alzheimer’s Association’s Rita Hayworth Gala, raising $1.5 million in a single night the year she chaired the event.

A sought after lecturer, Norville speaks with candor and humor about dealing with life’s curves and juggling a career and motherhood.  She is married and the mother of three.
